A well-packed bag is the key to enjoying a relaxing and stress-free vacation. When you have all your favorites in one place, you can let go of that fear of “leaving something behind” and look forward to the amazing trip planned. My complete travel-size toiletries list with mini beauty products and TSA-approve bottles has all the items you need on a trip.

All these items are also listed on my Amazon storefront under “Mini travel essentials”.

Travel Size Toiletries & Essentials

1. Hand Sanitizer: Touchland hand sanitizers are pocket-friendly, refillable, and capable of effectively killing more than 99% of germs. They’re my go-to for carry-on bags, day excursions, and everyday work events. I always carry them in their pouch to prevent spillage. Another favorite of mine is the classic Purell

Alternatively, you can also try Noshinku hand sanitizers

2. Native Deodorant: One of the most popular travel-size toiletries on Amazon is the Native deodorant. It’s sleek design, natural ingredients, and great reviews have soared the popularity further. I can vouch that it will last even in the most humid environments. I have one for my carry-on and another for the suitcase.

Alternatively, you can also go for deodorant wipes

3. Tic-Tac-Toes: These mini sizes fit perfectly in my micro-mini bag and last a 10-day trip easily. I buy these travel-size toiletries in bulk for both my adventures and everyday use.

4. Crest Breath Mist: This is an excellent breath freshener and is best for long flights. It instantly wards away bad breath, but the bottle itself won’t last for more than 25 to 30 sprays, so carry accordingly.

5. Mosquito Repellent Wipes: If there’s a mosquito anywhere in the room, it will find me and bite me. So, I carry both wipes and small repellent bottles wherever I go. These TSA-approved wipes never dried my skin and have protected me from bugs even in the jungle excursions of Bali!

6. Mini Phone: I pack this mini-phone for excursions in the destinations and beach days. I have a habit of leaving my phone and this is just perfect for functional apps without risking my original cell!

7. ALOH Sanitizing wipes to clean the handles, bags, and phones and give you the utmost protection from diseases. I use them for things but also hands when they are dirty with something I ate!

8. Small Makeup Bag to carry your lip balms, hair ties, lipstick, medications, or sun protection. It’s small yet sturdy and has lasted me for 2+ years without looking old.

9. Colgate wisps are my best friend on airplanes. If you need a toothbrush on the go, this is a great option. I carry it in my small micro-mini backpack so they don’t get lost.

10. Dental floss is a must-have on the travel-size toiletries list. The Holy Rose is my favorite. They are gentle, remove food particles in one swipe, and have a sturdy handle to make them functional.

11. Midol caplets for pain relief from headaches, cramps, and bloating. For anyone prone to PMS-related cramping, period discomfort, and headaches, keep them stacked in your travel mini cabinet.

12. Tylenol dissolve packs are my must-have on the travel-size toiletries list. They are strong and work very fast. I am quite prone to fever if I don’t eat well and exert myself. They work in about an hour and I ensure there are packets in both my carry-on and luggage!

13. Detergent sachets or dissolvable laundry sheets for laundry on vacation. It’s best for those who like to underpack and do their laundry in their homestays or Airbnbs. For travelers who prefer luxury stays, skip this travel-size product.

14. Wipe That Tush flushable wet wipes keep you clean, safe, and protected, and they’re also environmentally friendly. These biodegradable wipes are unscented and contain skin-friendly ingredients that don’t irritate the skin.

15. Stall Mates feminine fresh wipes to wipe the toilet seats on airplanes, airports, or any other washroom that you may use throughout your trip.

16. Small Jewelry Organiser Box for your rings, necklaces, earrings, etc. I love this velvet box. It’s classy, comes with dividers, and smartly compartmentalized for functionality.

17. TSA-approved travel bottles for your lotions, moisturizers, and other skincare products. I generally carry body lotion, face wash, serum, and moisturizer on long flights.

You can also try these capsules here

18. Mini Pill Organiser with enclosed compartments to keep all the pills separate and fresh. It also prevents humidity from entering the pill and changes the exposure effects on some medications/ supplements.

19. Raycon earbuds: I love their compact size, but you can carry your favorite wireless earphones.

20. Disposable razors for emergency hair removals. I have traveled with it for a 14-day trip to Europe and it shaved smoothly every time. The case is slightly bulky but it’s great to store the razor.

21. Downy Wrinkle Release Spray instantly removes any small creases in your clothes and makes them smell fresh. The spray works well in humid environments when the musty smell takes over everything.

22. Crest toothpaste in mini-size. I don’t always like the toothpaste provided in the hotels. You can skip this if you aren’t that picky. It’s helpful for long flights and layovers though.

Travel Size Mini Beauty Products

23. LED Mirror with magnification for touch-ups on the go. It’s foldable and works with batteries. The batteries last for a long time but carry spare ones if you have been using the mirror frequently.

24. Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance mini face cream. It’s the perfect size and ideal for my dry skin type.

25. Eezy sunscreen sachets for all skin types. This suits me and my husband very well. It’s also free from any harsh chemicals and reef-safe so you don’t harm marine life. Another option is Supergoop mini sunscreen. It doubles as a primer and my foundation goes smoothly on the top.

26. Belif eye gel in pen form efficiently depuffs eyes and smoothens the area instantly. I am quite prone to under-eye puffiness so this is a must-have in my carry-on bag. I want to arrive at my destination looking bright and fresh! 😉

27. Travel-size hair brush with cover. This one detangles my hair without breakage. It’s 3-layer brush system works naturally with your hair oils and scalp to distribute and regulate the sebum. I love its smooth massaging effects and it’s my must-have haircare travel accessory.

28. Travel-size Oaui kit. It’s a high-end product for regular use but I adore the travel kit because you get almost all the haircare products with one purchase. Surprisingly, it will last for longer than you think.

29. Kitsch Dry Shampoo Powder with dispenser. The dispenser sometimes pours down extra products, so be careful while using it. The powder does the job of keeping your hair looking fresh during vacations.

30. Lip Balm minis. I love these eos ones as they come in interesting flavors and still keep the lips moisturized for longer hours. It has a slight gloss finish but nothing too dramatic.

31. Elizabeth Arden serum capsules. I use high-end serums and they come in glass bottles, making them risky to carry. These capsules are perfect for travels and I carry them in a small backpack keychain for vacations.

32. Mini hand lotion to keep your hands moisturized and protected everywhere & anywhere.

33. Glamglow Instant Clearing Mask is one of the best mini beauty products on the list. It dries up the acne flare-ups quickly and keeps you looking fresh and blemish-free on vacations.

Travel Size Makeup Products

34. Mini-makeup blenders or ELF pinkie puffs to blend any makeup products. From foundation to blush or highlighter, these mini blenders are powerful enough to ensure flawless makeup application, just like their full-size counterparts.

35. Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes. These small packets are strong enough to remove even the most stubborn makeup. I have tried them on my waterproof mascara which often needs a bit more work to remove. But the wipes remove almost 80% of it with one swipe.

36. Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter mini is the best mini beauty product for a flawless base. What I love about this foundation is how it can be used as both a light and heavy coverage foundation, you just need patience to build it for glamorous makeup routines.

Complements the mini Charlotte Tilbury mini compact powder well.

37. Urban Decay All-Nighter Primer/ Smashbox Photofinish Primer. I love both these primers and you can pick any of these mini beauty products for your travels!

38. Rare Beauty mini blush. The size is just perfect and so is the product. There’s also a set with an illumined, which is also amazing. It’s often out of stock on Amazon and you can pick it up from offline stores.

39. Benefit Cosmetics Mascara is also a great addition to your travel-size toiletries list. It goes on without smears and resists perspiration to a good extent. If you’re prone to heavy sweating, go for a waterproof option instead.

40. Charlotte Tilbury mini lipstick is creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips. I won’t say that it will last you the whole day, but at least for a good 5 to 6 hours easily. I just love its color and the size for my trips.

41. Gucci Flora Mini EDP smells divine and perfect to carry for vacations. It lasts all day long and the bottle falls under TSA-approved travel-size toiletries.

42. Makeup brush set in a gorgeous color with brushes for face makeup, eye makeup, and finishing touches like blush and highlighter.

Miscellaneous & Mini Luggage Options

43. Mini Fan is also a wonderful addition to the travel-size toiletries list. I carry the foldable version but also the neck portable fan for my husband. He sweats like crazy in humid environments.

44. Adidas Mini Backpack set that doubles up as crossbody. I love this for exploring on the vacation. It’s unisex so my husband can also carry it.

45. Backpack keychain sets to hold the tiniest of toiletry bottles. I have one for my skincare and another one for my makeup to keep everything organized.

46. Suitcase trunks in mini size. I have yet to purchase them but have found so many aesthetic reels on them. They are positively reviewed and look sturdy for your carry-on or luggage.

What is the TSA rule for travel-size toiletries list on an airplane?

When traveling through U.S. airport security, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) enforces specific rules for carrying toiletries in your carry-on luggage, commonly known as the 3-1-1 liquids rule:

  • Container Size: Each liquid, gel, aerosol, cream, and paste must be in a container no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
  • Quart-Sized Bag: All containers must fit into a single, clear, quart-sized plastic, zip-top bag.
  • One Bag Limit: Each passenger is allowed one quart-sized bag in their carry-on luggage.

This rule applies to common toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, and lotion. (Transportation Security Administration)

Exemptions:

Certain items are exempt from the 3-1-1 rule and can be carried in larger quantities, though they must be declared to TSA officers at the checkpoint:

  • Medications: Prescription and over-the-counter medications are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding 3.4 ounces.
  • Infant and Child Necessities: Items such as breast milk, formula, and baby food are permitted in larger quantities.

These items may require additional screening.

Packing Tips:
  • Solid Alternatives: To maximize space in your quart-sized bag, consider using solid versions of toiletries, like bar shampoo, deodorant wipes, sanitizer wipes, etc. which are not subject to liquid restrictions.
  • Checked Baggage: Toiletries in containers larger than 3.4 ounces should be packed in your checked luggage.
